Cephalotus follicularis | Christian Klein | Representative

Cephalotus follicularis is an iconic plant from Australia that shares many similar adaptations to Nepenthes. Squat pitchers spread out at ground level, forming mounds of beautiful traps adorned with small delicate hairs and toothy peristomes. The lids of these plants are decorated with white markings that allow light to pass through the traps and seem to almost glow. Cephalotus grow well in a wide variety of conditions, though our’s seem to grow the best in intermediate conditions under bright lighting. These plants prefer to dry out slightly between watering and using a tray to bottom water them has proven to be effective. This plant is a true collector’s item and its dense growth habit makes it a compact yet attractive plant.
