Heliamphora purpurascens is a striking species of Heliamphora that produces cylindrical-shaped traps topped with large overhung nectar spoons. Found only on one Tepui on Earth, this species is highly sought after for its botanical intrigue and beautiful growth habit. Pitchers grow vertically and show a range of color morphology. Some specimens exhibit green pitcher bodies with a ring of striking red around the edges and other individuals produce solid red pitchers with green emergent growth. This plant would be a stunning addition to any highland collection.
