For the die-hard Nepenthes and carnivorous plant growers, a large clump of live Sphagnum moss can be used to make your collection truly shine. This can be used to start a colony of live moss for each of the plant pots in your collection. To grow the moss, simply place a small head of the moss in each pot and the moss moist with relative humidity over 75%. Don’t forget to use distilled water or reverse osmosis water, or pure rainwater, as live Sphagnum moss requires a very low concentration of dissolved solids in the water tap water will kill the moss. The moss in the photos is representative of the amount you will receive – roughly 3.5″ x 3.5″.
The photographed terrarium is included to demonstrate what sphagnum moss looks like in a terrarium. Plants are sold separately.
