Nepenthes pitopangii is a diminutive highland species with wonderful red and tan mottled pitchers. Lower growth on this plant yields small rounded pitchers that stand out beautifully against moss and their own green foliage. Aerial pitchers on this plant change in morphology becoming more funnel-shaped with a larger mouth. This species readily creates basal offshoots once it has established vining growth and happily scrambles over itself producing brightly colored traps as it grows. We recommend this plant to anyone who is interested in adding a unique highland species to their collection!
